Changes to RFMS

 

RFMS was acquired by Cyncly in 2022. Before the acquisition, work was underway on the next version of RFMS, and Cyncly has invested heavily in quickly progressing that project.

Over the coming 18 months, you will see the next version of RFMS (RFMS Next); it will be in a modern format, with the functionality you have come to know, but with new and improved functionality previously unavailable to us on the current Clarion platform. As these changes become available for use on our demo databases, we will invite clients to join us in webinars to see what is happening with RFMS. We will also test the new version to ensure that Australasian features work as they should.

How these changes affect you depends on when you implemented RFMS in your business. Before 2019, you would have purchased the software, whereas the majority of clients have been on the subscription model since then.

Those clients on subscription can upgrade to RFMS Next when the software is available, and they are comfortable doing so. It’s worth pointing out that some will want to stay on the legacy version for the time being, but we will keep you posted and discuss what will be best.

Those clients that purchased RFMS can similarly elect to stay on the legacy software or take up an offer to migrate to RFMS Next on a grandfathering price structure over three years.

RFMS in the US has been moving clients to the subscription model for around 12 months. They have seen some clients elect to stay on the legacy software, but there will be a point where that version will not be subject to development. In this respect, RFMS is going through a process similar to Microsoft and Windows 10.

Unfortunately, there will be some price increases, particularly for those clients that purchased the software. We understand that pricing changes can impact your budget and planning, and we are committed to providing you with the best possible value and support. These adjustments are necessary to continue offering a high-quality solution to manage your flooring business and support, and they reflect our increased costs.

Over more than 40 years, RFMS has established itself as the market-leading solution for the flooring industry. Over the coming 12-18 months, RFMS will take a further leap forward. Our role is to support our clients and help them get the most out of their investment.
