Why Bother With Back-Ups?

There are two main reasons why it’s important to have back-ups setup in Measure. The first is that, like any software, glitches can occur from time to time which could result in loss of work if the back-up function is not selected. Second, issues with the computer the program is running on could also lead to loss of data. So where are the back-up settings in Measure and which option should you select?

First go to the ‘File’ tab in Measure

Second – select ‘Measure Options’

Third – select ‘Save’ under ‘User Settings’. Here it is important to make sure that the check box for ‘Backup every’ is selected. Then determine how often you would like Measure to create a back-up from the dropdown box. The ‘show files’ button lets you see where the files will be saved to. There are two backup modes to select from but the developers of Measure recommend ‘Create backup of’ as the best option. Now choose how many backup files will be created before the first one in the series is overwritten.

It might be worth mentioning that while perhaps the majority of users save their work to the hard-drive of their machine or to their server each Measure license comes with unlimited Cloud storage so for those projects you are particularly concerned about you might want to also save a copy to the Measure Cloud by going to ‘File’ then ‘Save to cloud’.
