Speed Up Your Use of Measure

The object of Measure is to make you efficient use of your time as you work with projects. As you use Measure you will recognise that there are tools that you use more often than others, and when you need them, you don’t want to have to search for them each time.

The first thing to remember is that a number of commonly used tools are available when you right-click inside a room:

Possibly less well known is the ability users have within Measure to add functions to the Quick Access Tool Bar. In the example below I have right clicked on the Insert Point tool to add it to the Quick Access Tool Bar which appears in the top left-hand corner of the screen.

You will notice that we have the option to show the Quick Access Tool Bar below the ribbon. When we are working regularly on large projects, having those tools that we use regularly, just one click away, and as close as possible, will save time.

Finally, as you add to the Quick Access Tool Bar, you will see they are displayed in the order that they were added. It might make sense to have them appear in the order in which they might be used in a project, so you can change the order by selecting Customise from the drop down menu, or by going File/Measure Options/Customise. Simply highlight the function you want to move and use the Up, Down, or Remove buttons. Click Apply when you have the functions on your Quick Access Tool Bar in the order that makes the most sense to you.

Through the use of the Quick Access Tool Bar, you can customise Measure to your exact needs and workflow.

Our Measure Support team is available if you have any questions.
