Caution-Add to Measurement Function in Disto

Within Measure Mobile, there is the function to set a default amount to be added to measurements out of your Disto measuring device. It seems like a good function to use, but for rooms that are not simple rectangles or squares, this function can distort a room affecting seam placement for roll goods and tile placement for tiles.

Like any tool, the add to measurement function has its uses, but we recommend caution; you should fully understand the potential impact on a project.

Generally, we recommend net room measurements for best results. Measure has a number of features to ensure you will have enough product based on net measurements; cut gap for roll product and waste factor for area products. For situations that require it, the “expand room” tool in Measure Premier will expand rooms in a number of ways; vertically, horizontally, all directions, or specific walls only.

We train to measure into doorways, but Measure also has the “extend through” feature for doorways whereby it will add a specified distance into a transition.
